It's always nice to be able to celebrate a few successes here and there like getting a cover shot or a double page spread so here's a random selection of Half Light stuff that's made me smile in the last few years.
In June 2018 I was lucky enough to shoot a private practice day for Troy Bayliss at Morgan Park. To say I was stoked when TB used a couple of my photos for his FB cover and profile is an understatement.
The Kawasaki Z900RS was the first bike I shot for Road Rider magazine and we just lucked it with the location, a puddle and some clouds.
There's something about getting a cover shot that never gets old. I've been fortunate enough to score a couple with Kiwi Rider. The Rossi photo was taken at Lukey Heights during the 2017 Round of MotoGP at Phillip Island and the photo of Ben on the R6 was taken during the Australia/NZ launch in August 2017.
My first major launch shoot was the all new Yamaha R6 in August 2017. The first day of the shoot was on the road and the weather didn't play so nicely at all. Day 2 was on the track at Eastern Creek and that went a lot better.
This shot of Steve Martin on the main straight was taken whilst I was laying on my stomach in the back of a Hyundai hatchback breathing in exhaust fumes. Totally worth it.
A whole bunch of my photos made it into the AMCN launch report but this was the standout.
Shooting for BikeMe with Boris is always a laugh, he likes to make shoots easy, so do I and we get along just fine.
He does get some very nice gear for me to point the camera at too. This MV Agusta F3RC is one of the prettiest and nicest sounding bikes I've shot.
Double-page spreads are always good for smiles so three in one issue was pretty cool. For Edition 11 2018 Volume 2, Kiwi Rider used a few of my photos for a 'behind the scenes' at PI MotoGP 2018 and stretched a couple of those across two pages. And in the same edition, a photo I took back in 2017 of ASBK star Daniel Falzon got the two page treatment to illustrate an article Editor Ben Wilkins wrote about taking Daniel's R1 out for a few laps at Eastern Creek.
